public release of PKHomeDex on Google Play, and describes that release.
PKHomeDex is developed and published by Little Guys Studio LLC ("we", "us"). You can reach us at [email protected]. This policy describes how the PKHomeDex Android app handles information.
We do not collect personal information from you. PKHomeDex has no sign-up, no login, and no user profile. We do not ask for your name, email address, phone number, or contacts, and the app contains no analytics or tracking software of our own. Nothing you scan or store reaches us.
The app does store data about your Pokémon, but it stores that on your device rather than sending it to us.
The free version of the app displays ads, and the ad network that supplies them does collect information about your device. That is the one flow of data in PKHomeDex that goes to a third party without you starting it, so it gets its own section below (section 9), including how to switch it off.
The core feature of PKHomeDex reads the Pokémon HOME summary page shown on your screen. To do that, Android asks for your permission to capture the screen, and shows a persistent notification for as long as capture is active. You grant this each time and can stop it at any moment.
The Pokémon records you save, along with your tags, teams, trainer information, and app settings, are stored in a database in the app's private storage on your device. Other apps cannot read it. We cannot read it. Uninstalling PKHomeDex deletes it.
PKHomeDex offers an optional backup feature that is off unless you turn it on. If you enable it:

permission does not allow the app to see any other file in your Drive.
Google's handling of the data you store in your Drive is governed by Google's Privacy Policy.
PKHomeDex's use and transfer of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements. The app requests the narrowest scope its backup feature can work with, it uses that access only to store and retrieve your own backup snapshots, and it transfers that data to no one. The data is never used for advertising, is never sold, and is not read by any person at Little Guys Studio.
If you have Android's built-in Backup by Google One enabled on your device, the operating system may back up PKHomeDex's collection database and settings to your Google account as part of backing up your phone. This is an Android feature that you control in your device settings, and the data goes to your Google account rather than to us. Screen captures, scans awaiting review, and diagnostic files are deliberately excluded from that backup.
PKHomeDex works offline for scanning and cataloging. It connects to the internet for these purposes only:
Apart from the ad requests, which are covered in section 9, these connections carry no information about you or your collection. They ask for a file by name. As with any internet request, our hosting provider receives the network information inherent in delivering it, such as your IP address and the file requested, and may retain it in standard server logs for security and operational purposes. We do not use those logs to build any profile of you, and they are not linked to your collection, because the request does not tell us anything about your collection.
If you use the app's report feature, PKHomeDex prepares an email and hands it to your own email app. Nothing is transmitted automatically: you see the message and its attachment, and you choose whether to send it. If the report concerns a scan, the attachment contains the captured screenshot and the data the app read from it, so that we can find and fix the misreading.
When you send a report, we receive it as an ordinary email at [email protected], including your email address, so that we can reply. We use reports only to diagnose and fix problems and to answer you. We keep screenshots from reports as test material for the scanner. If you would rather we delete a report you sent, email us and we will.
The free version of PKHomeDex shows banner ads supplied by Google AdMob. To serve and measure those ads, AdMob collects information about your device, which typically includes your advertising ID, IP address, device and operating system details, and whether you saw or interacted with an ad. Google uses this to select ads, to measure how they performed, and to limit how often you see the same one. Google's use of this information is described in how Google uses information from sites or apps that use its services.
The ads cannot see your collection. The ad component has no access to your collection database, your scans, or your screen captures, and we do not send it anything about you or the Pokémon you own. It receives the device information described above and nothing else from us.
If you are in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom, or Switzerland, the app asks for your choices about personalized advertising before showing you ads, and you can change that choice later in the app's settings.
Wherever you are, you can limit ad tracking on your device: Android's settings let you reset or delete your advertising ID and opt out of ad personalization, which applies to every app on the phone, not just this one.
You can also remove the ads from PKHomeDex. A one-time in-app purchase removes them permanently, and any paid Pro period removes them as well. Once ads are removed, the app stops requesting them, so the data flow described in this section stops with it.
PKHomeDex offers a one-time purchase that removes ads, and a Pro subscription available monthly or yearly with a free trial. All payments are processed by Google Play. We never receive or store your payment details: no card number, no billing address, no name. Google Play tells the app only whether an entitlement is currently active.
So that ad removal survives reinstalling the app or moving to a new phone, the app records the fact that you have paid in its own settings on your device, and in your cloud backup snapshot if you use that feature. That record stays in your own storage and is never sent to us.
You can view, change, or cancel a subscription in the Google Play Store under Payments and subscriptions. Google's handling of your purchase is governed by Google's Privacy Policy.
We do not sell or share your data. The third parties involved in the app are the ones described above, in the roles described there: Google, as the provider of your Google Drive storage, Android system backup, Google Play billing, and the AdMob advertising described in section 9, and our hosting provider for image and reference-data downloads. The advertising data in section 9 is the only information about you that goes to a third party as part of how the app makes money.
Almost everything PKHomeDex creates lives on your device, and it stays there until you delete it or uninstall the app. We are not holding it, so there is no retention period for us to apply to it. The rest:
We may disclose information if a valid legal process requires it, such as a court order or a lawful request from a government authority, or where we believe in good faith that disclosure is necessary to comply with the law, to protect someone's safety, or to investigate misuse of the app.
It is worth being concrete about what that would amount to. We hold no collection data, no account, and no profile of you. The only thing we could be compelled to produce is correspondence you chose to send us.
If Little Guys Studio LLC is ever sold, merged, or reorganized, information we hold could transfer to the new owner as part of that transaction. If that happens we will post a notice on this page beforehand, and the new owner would be bound by this policy until they publish their own.
Little Guys Studio LLC operates in the United States, so any email you send us is received and stored there. If you are writing from outside the United States, your message crosses a border to reach us, and United States data protection law differs from the law where you live.
Your collection itself is not transferred anywhere. It stays on your device unless you back it up, in which case it goes to your own Google account and Google's infrastructure, wherever that account is hosted.
Because we hold no account for you, there is no account for us to delete.
If you are in one of these places, data protection law gives you the right to ask for a copy of the personal data we hold about you, to have it corrected, to have it deleted, to restrict or object to how we use it, to receive it in a portable form, and to withdraw consent you have given.
Exercising those rights here is unusually simple, because the only personal data we hold about anyone is the correspondence they sent us. An access request will return your emails to us and nothing else, since we hold no collection data, no account, and no usage profile.
Where we do process personal data, the legal bases are: your consent, for personalized advertising, which you give or refuse in the prompt described in section 9 and can change at any time; our legitimate interest in fixing the app, for problem reports you send us; and performance of a contract, for purchases you make.
To exercise any of these, email [email protected]. We will respond within one month. You also have the right to complain to your local data protection authority, and you do not have to contact us first.
California law gives residents specific rights over personal information. A company our size may not currently meet the thresholds that make those rules binding, but the rights below are ones we honor regardless, and it costs us nothing to do so because we hold so little.
What is collected. Using the categories California law defines:
Selling and sharing. We do not sell personal information for money, and we never will. However, showing ads in the free version involves passing your advertising identifier to Google for cross-context behavioral advertising, and California law classifies that as "sharing." You can stop it three ways: remove ads with a one-time purchase or a Pro subscription, opt out of ads personalization in your Android settings, or email us and we will tell you how to turn it off.
Your rights. You may request to know what we have collected, request deletion, request correction, opt out of the sharing described above, and limit the use of sensitive personal information, which in our case is already nil. You will never be charged a different price or given a worse app for exercising any of these. Email [email protected] and we will respond within 45 days.
PKHomeDex is a general audience app and is not directed to children under 13, nor under 16 where local law sets that higher age. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children, and as described above we do not collect personal information from anyone. If you are a parent or guardian and believe your child has sent us personal information in a problem report, email us and we will delete it.
This policy and the app both link to sites we do not operate, such as Google's policy pages and your Google account settings. We are not responsible for what those sites do with your information, and their own privacy policies apply once you leave.
Your collection is held in the app's private storage, which Android isolates from other apps, and the app's network connections use HTTPS. No system is perfectly secure, though there is no central database of user collections here for anyone to breach.
If this policy changes, we will update the page and revise the "Last updated" date above. Material changes to what the app collects will also be reflected in the app's Google Play Data Safety listing.
